Meet Dr. Waleed
Principal Dentist · Newstead, Greenslopes & Paddington
Fixing teeth was never the point.
Every patient who walks into this practice carries a story that started long before they picked up the phone.
Years of avoiding the mirror. Years of ordering food based on what you can manage, not what you want. Years of laughing with your hand in front of your mouth, or staying quiet in a conversation because you didn't want anyone to notice. Years of telling yourself you'd deal with it eventually — and then not dealing with it, because the thought of sitting in another chair and being made to feel worse about it than you already do felt like too much.
That story is more common than most people realise. And it is never something to be ashamed of.
This practice was built specifically for that moment — when you've finally decided you're done carrying it, and you want to sit across from someone who will actually listen, explain everything clearly, and give you a real path forward. No pressure. No judgment. No oversimplification. Just an honest conversation about where you are, what's possible, and what it would take to get there.
"The patients I see have usually already been through enough. The last thing they need from me is another person making them feel bad about it. My job is to understand what they've been through, explain what I can do about it, and give them something that changes their life."
Most patients tell me it's the first time they've actually understood their own situation.
That's not a boast. It's a problem with how dentistry is typically communicated — and it's something I take seriously.
"The conversation is the treatment. Understanding what someone has already been through shapes everything about how I plan and deliver a case."
Complex dental treatment involves a lot of moving parts — surgical sequencing, bone volume, implant positioning, occlusion, aesthetics, healing timelines, costs, staged options. For a patient who has spent years feeling anxious, being handed a treatment plan full of clinical language and a large number at the bottom is overwhelming.
Overwhelmed patients don't make decisions. They leave, go home, think about it, and never come back. Not because they don't want the treatment — because no one made it feel manageable.
I spend more time in the consultation than most clinicians do. Not because I'm inefficient — because I believe the conversation is the treatment. By the time a patient leaves their first appointment, they understand exactly what is happening, why it happened, what the options are, and what I would recommend. In plain language. With time for every question.
Patients regularly describe it as the first consultation where they didn't feel rushed, judged, or talked at.
The best reconstructive outcomes don't happen in a single appointment. They happen over months — through a relationship built on trust, consistency, and genuine care for where that person ends up.
The Training
Education from the best in the world.
Qualifications That Reflect the Standard.
Australasian Implant Academy
Fellow of the Australasian Implant Academy (AIA) — the pathway through which Dr. Waleed is completing his NYU Fellowship and progressing toward the internationally recognised title of Master Implantologist.
New York University Fellowship
Currently completing the NYU Fellowship in Implantology — a multi-year, case-assessed programme examined by an independent international institution. Completion in 2027 confers the title of Master Implantologist. Fewer than a handful of Australian dentists complete this at any given time.
International Surgical Training
Hands-on surgical training across two continents alongside leading maxillofacial surgeons. Focus areas: complex full-arch reconstruction, remote anchorage implants, advanced bone grafting, and soft-tissue protocols not yet widely taught or adopted in Australia.
World-Class Mentorship
Educated under some of the most cited names in implant surgery globally — including Dr. Ziv Simon, Dr. Pedro Rodrigues, Dr. Ned Restom (Diplomate ABOI), Dr. Naif Sinada, Dr. Peyman Raissi, and Dr. Dean Licenblatt (Diplomate and Examiner, American Board of Oral Implantology).
Elite Digital Workflows
Every case is digitally planned before anything is touched. Proficient in CEREC, Digital Smile Design (DSD), photogrammetry, and guided implant surgery. The result is a level of predictability and precision in planning that translates directly into better surgical outcomes and fewer surprises for the patient.
Principal Dentist — Three Locations
Principal Dentist across Newstead, Greenslopes, and Paddington. Reconstructive and implant cases accepted across all three locations. Complex surgical cases facilitated through Brisbane Dental Anaesthetic Centre (Dormir Group) for patients who prefer treatment under general anaesthetic or IV sedation.
Biology. Biomechanics. Precision.
Three principles that guide every treatmentdecision made in this practice.
Save What's Good
We do not believe in removing healthy teeth for convenience. If a tooth has structuralintegrity and periodontal health, it is incorporated into the treatment — not sacrificed.
Conservative principles. Maximum preservation. Always.
Replace What's Failed
When a tooth is hopeless, it is replaced with something better. Advanced implantology restores individual root strength, preserves the alveolarridge, and recreates load-bearing capacity that damaged natural teeth can no longer provide.
No Gaps. No Shortcuts.
Every full-arch case is planned to eliminate the visible gap between gum and prosthesis that undermines so many implant results. Surgical planning, bone reduction, and tissue management are all part of achieving a result that looks completely natural.

Outside the clinic.
The same standard. In every area.
Dr. Waleed lives in Newstead and is genuinely embedded in the community he serves — not just geographically, but culturally. He understands the people who come through his door because he is part of the same city, the same rhythm, the same life.
Outside the clinic, the same principles apply. He trains with the same intentionality he brings to surgical planning. Structured, consistent, recovery-focused — because showing up for a complex full-arch case that runs several hours requires a level of physical and mental sharpness that doesn't happen by accident. His patients are trusting him with something significant. He takes that seriously in every part of how he operates.
He believes the clinician across the table matters as much as the treatment plan on the screen. That belief is reflected in everything about how this practice is run — from the first phone call to the final restoration.
What Happens When You Get in Touch.
You've already done the hard part by looking. Here is exactly what happens next.
The Call
Our Treatment Coordinator will contact you during business hours to answer your initial questions, understand your situation briefly, and find a consultation time that works for you. No pressure. No commitment required.
The Consultation
You attend a comprehensive consultation at Newstead or Greenslopes or Paddington. We take 3D bone scans, high-resolution photography, and a full functional assessment.Everything needed to design your treatment plan.
The Clarity
You leave with a written treatment plan, a fixed all-inclusive price, and a clear timeline. No vague estimates. No surprise add-ons later. You take that plan away, think about it at your own pace, and come back when you're ready. There is no pressure to decide in the room.
Three Locations. One Standard.
"The standard I hold myself to outside this clinic is the same standard I bring into it. That's not a value statement. It's just how I operate."
